l 1928 THE CBAYLEY QANNUAL 6 77 As Freshmen we began a rough and steep ascent, And in that first year's struggle near all our strength was spentg Still we came forth victorious from this difficult strife, For Fate had carefully guarded the remaining spark of life. One yearls race was ended: one more battle won, Yet troubles we thought were over had only just begun. We Sophomores found it a life of toil, never time for fun, How thankful were we for it when the second year was done! Haughty we were as Juniorsg no classes on us trod, And, taking this advantage, we ruled with an iron rodg Old Rose and Silver formed the banner of our choice, Winning admiration which was expressed by every voice. This last year we were Seniors and mighty proud were we, For we had worked to gain our goal with utmost energyg We surely proved this fourth year that we could hold our ground, 1928 Conquering the weak, defeating the strong, we came forth laurel crowned. Now that our four years are over, we must bid you a fond farewell, But when we think of Bayley, our hearts with love will swell, Though the days pass swiftly by us, memory will ne'er grow cold.
