1928 THe BAYLSY QANNUAL 1928 VN U9 FRESHMAN B EPTEMBER 8, 1927, marked the entrance of another forty famous Freshmen into Bayley High. Typical freshies We were,-strong in num- L M ber and ready for the skirmishes which were about to begin. 3 We found several strangers among us, some from Whippany, Dover, E Mendham and Morris Plains. We were glad to welcome them all into our midst but particularly did we rejoice over the return of one who had been with us before in the elementary school, in the days of the Sixth Grade. I . . At first our work seemed very difficult and we were busy conquering it 5 but by the end of the first semester we were progressing very well indeed. Thus far things have not been as difficult as we anticipated. The Hallowe'en Party, given by the Senior Class, marked our entrance into the social world. We must confess we felt very grown up for only high school students are admitted to these affairs and we had been looking in through the windows for such a long time! C The Mission Crusade Unit has kept us busy, spiritually and temporally. We are aiming at keeping Bayley at the head of the list! Were we interested in basketball? VVe had two classmates on the Varsity sub-team. Did we celebrate Bay1ey's first victory over St. Peter's? We painted the town red in celebration! The year is flying by. We are looking forward to summer vacation with heavy hearts because we hate to leave school! Oh, no! VVe must first struggle through final examinations. If we succeed, and we so hope, we will greet you in 1929 as Sophisticated Sophomoresf' Best wishes to the Class of 1928. Sewniy-six
