All the good times And bad things to be remembered Will be planted as flowers Along the road of life. And as I travel down that trail, l will glance back over my shoulder, Trying to hold on to those Memorable times; And those flowers will call out to me, Begging me to pick them; But I will turn and leave the past behind As I stroll along My PATHWAY OF MEMORIES. This year's basketball season left Bayard High School a memory that will not easily be erased, a trip to the State Basketball Tournaments in Lincoln. Not only did the Tigers make it to Lincoln, but they advanced to the ultimate game- the state championships! Bayard’s dream of a State Championship in their grips was shattered by the Madison Dragons by a score of 57-47. To get to the state championships, our Tigers climbed a rough and rocky road. The regional game against North Platte St. Pats was the first step they took, winning 79-57. Next on the agenda was a trip to Lincoln to play Cairo Centura who they defeated 48-41. One more game had to be won in order to enable the Tigers to play in the championship game. The game against Oakland Craig was a hard fought one until the end of over-time. When the smoke cleared the Bayard Tigers remained standing, to yet play a final foe. Even though Bayard received runner-up, We, in our hearts, still feel they are 1. 44 Make memories Coach Wallace and Seniors Jim Smith. C. Propp and R. Michael. Eight of the 12 members who went to state were returning lettermen. R. Michael received second team and Jim Smith received an Honorable mention to become part of the All-State team. J; Yakel and R.
