emor Prophery It is nov 1965 Ten years have passed since ve graduated from the Bayard institution Times have changed and me ar row living in th modern future Ne will never forget the past but that is over so let us look into the lives of our 1955 graduates It's an ordinary day in the year of 1965 Jet planes are zooming in the sky and the new air cars are taking off from everywhere It's a dif ferent day in the little town named Bayard, however A rocket ship to the moon is taking off at 9 OO a m I, Doris Schoon, a school teacher am about to embark upon this trip, so I am better able to explain the wonders of space travel to my students As I approached the ticket office I was very much surprised to se Arthella Ohm as the ticket agent I doubt very much that the Airlines school in Omaha ever dreamed they'd have one of their graduates selling tickets to the moon Guess I better hop aboard Nhy look who's driving the ship, none other then Jim Vaughan I alvays knew he was a great one for speed At last I am seeing the inside of this rocket ship I heard that it was designed by Jerry Holliday His engineering must have paid off well, I've seen the contraption nom Guess I'll sit down some place Oh, there's an empty seat in the back' Looks like I'm the first to board these large seats I couldn't see him He was sleeping as usual but I finally woke him, and we talked He had no Job, and took this trip to say that he had bought the first ticket to the moon As we sat there, in came two farmers I could hardly recognize them under the beards, dirt, and unfamiliar overhalls They turned out to be Louis Crawley and walt Pohl Guess they're big farmers in the hills of Guthrie county By this time I was getting anxious to have some women arrive Now, who's that coming in the door why none other then Mrs Stanley Bass, the former Mary Jane Stroud I thought it rather funny for her to go on this trip, but she said she was doing it for Stanley He wants to rebuild his Ford car into a rocket ship He couldn't go today so he sent Mary By this time two other women had arrived Yes, none other then the famous T V singer, Marilyn VandenBr1nk, her married name being Mrs Jerry Ibach Nith her was the famous piano player Liberace Moylan, or as we knew her, Kathy Moylan Their reason for such a trip was for publlcty Look who just got on' Some farmers from Greene county, Jerry Dillavou and Eddie Feeney They're really dressed up too Must be doing better then those Guthrie county farmers Now vho's that filling up the gas tank Why of course Gene Heglin It's taking all of 500 gallons of gas to fill this thing up Nonder if that's enough? Hey, who's that doing all the talking Missed her somewhere Oh, yes I see now, 1t's Arline Calder Guess she's a traveling sales woman She surely has the gift of gab for it Can't imagine how she sneaked on here without me hearing her who's that sitting with her? Oh, yes Mrs Keith Allen, formerly Shirley Brannan Can't imagine her leaving her six children at home with a baby sitter well, look who we have here, Philip Miller now band teacher of the Bayard school He even brought his horn along Guess 1t's to entertain us?? Now here's a fellow I couldn't miss Tom Crosier Guess he's now a professional basketball player He really must have come up in the world of basketball since his high school days It couldn't be, but it is, Marlene Hagen and Audrie Hermanson. Really a surprise to see them. Last time I heard theywerenusslonarles in Africa They were always adventurous, but I d1dn't think they'd travel all the way back here just for this trip. I I U ..
