Nason. His friends at Bay View followed him from camp to camp, from army school to army school, and watched with pride his rise from captain to lieutenant colonel. ' He saw nineteen months of the most rigorous service in New Guinea, and had returned, planning to resume his life as a teacher, when he was fatally injured Sep- tember 8, 1944. Col. Nason left Bay View before this year's graduating class had a chance to know him, but his fellow teachers and his former students- speak often of his forthright acceptance of realities, his complete devotion to a task once assumed, his intense loyalties. To him they would say in the words of the Romans whom he loved, Frazer, ave atque vale!
