The Bay View I'I1gh School S ONE WALKS along any street ln Bay Vlew, ones attentlon IS lmmedlately drawn to a beau tlful bulldlng, wlth battlemented tower etched agamst the sky, set apart from all others This IS the new Bay Vlew Hlgh School whlch has been awalted so long Its very posltlon on a hlll overlooklng practlcally all of Bay Vlew contrlbutes to nts lmpressxveness and maJest1c beauty Three green ternaces and a long wlndxng walk lead to a dignified artxstlc facade, orna mented with cut stonework Gargoyles qualnt llttle figures of man and beast cut from stone adorn wmdow and door caslngs As It stands the bulldlng IS a land mark long to be remembered never forgotten Ground was broken for our new school ln 1911, on September seventeenth by Mr Frltsche our prln clpal but the war and its attendant dlillcultles made progress on the bulldmg very slow and today the work has not been entlrely completed However we have been able to occupy the bulldmg durmg the school year 1922 and 1923 For all modern conveniences and even luxurxes, no school can surpass ours The looms are brxght and pleasant at all tlmes Besldes havlng all ne cessary class rooms and two large assemblles our school contams many rooms whlch other schools cannot boast of such as an ofllce for our school paper a book store and a four room flat for the Household Arts Depart ment The audltorlum ls, perhaps the lovellest of all looms Wxth ltS maSS1Ve stage, over whlch IS artlstlcallv set the Wlsconsln seal, ltS large seatlng capacity and delxcately carved wlndow casmgs lt makes lmpresslon upon strangers not qulckly to be forgotten The hbraly IS another beautlful room overlookmg the lake the vlew of Whlch ln ltself IS an msplratlon Thxs lovely room wxth its many well stocked shelves IS an ldeal place for a consclentlous worker to spend hlS lexsure hours The laboratoues are also fully equlpped wlth the best of everythmg that can be ob tamed Bay Vlew Hxgh School also possesses two fully equlpped gymnasxums and gleamlng, tlled swlmmlng pools Ample space for an athletlc field has been pro vlded at the west of he buxldmg The people of Bay Vlew should and do feel rlght ly proud of the fact that the most beautlful of all M11 waukee hxgh schools IS located wlthln thelr v1c1n1ty and IS for thelr chlldren to attend A bulldlng such as thxs whlch provxdes opportunities for the fullest development of all students w1ll educate and mspxre those who hve wlthm Its mclosure and those who come to see It It IS a Joy and dellght to all students to know that long after they have left this lovely bulldlng lt will cast 1ts charm over the comlng generatlon and lts beauty and useful ness will be lncreased as years pass
