Zizmvhall This book, unfortunately goes to press much too early to record the full activities of the baseball team. Up to the time that this publication went to the printer's, however, the Bay Shore High School ball tossers, under the capable leadership of Coach Raymond V. Chester. had been doing themselves proud on the diamond and were headed well on the way to another Suffolk County Championship. ln the flrst game of the season Bay Shore defeated Patchogue by a score of I0 9 at the local diamond in a contest which lasted ten innings Since Patchogue is probably the strongest team that the Bay Shore boys will have to play the victory over them seems to indicate that the Maroon and White will sweep the league ln the second game Bay Shore had little dlf hculty in downing Saywlle cominfv out wctors by an 8 l score lhe team this year 19 composed as follows Edward Flynn catcher Richard Hegarty pitcher Edward Bedell pitcher Lloyd Moreland second base William Wesselholf first base ohn Flynn short stop George I-larbo third base Louis Maas left field Frank GhOSlO captain center field ames Haverty right field Stanley Sherry right field Bugs Igankvthall Second Team rlhe boys second team had an exceptional season on the court emerg ing victorious ln thirteen of the fourteen games played The boys lost only to the Patchogue Seconds at Patchogue ln their game at Bay Shore the wearers of the Maroon and Nvhite defeated the Patchogue unlor Varsity by a score of 21 20 in one of the best games seen at the local gym during the season The members of the second team squad were ack Hall Stanley Sherry Carl Wesselhoft Russell Richards Lloyd Moreland Frank BISSO oseph Boyle Sigmund Hirsch and Theodore BISSO P - ' 1 . , . . , , 5 , - ' . . .
