Svrnrnr Artuntrw The Class of 28 held two cake sales at Terry and Glbson s real estate office The cakes contrlbuted by the Seniors w re sold by the gurls of the class needless to sav both sales were uccessful The Seniors received the proceeds from the Alumni basketball games of December 30th They hlred an orchestra and had dancm after the game clearing slxty five dollars lhe Seniors held an evenm card party on anuary 26th ln the school library at whxch about elght tables were filled Refreshments conslstlng f coffee and cake were served by the gurls Lovely table pr17es were gxven lhls card party only reallzed about twenty f1VC dollars but even thls small amount looked good to the then needy Class During the early part of March this celebrated Class held the usual Senior Popularity Contest and broke all records for money cleared on such an event lt lasted for one week durlng whlch tlme excltement and even strife was rampant and at the end of which week fifty dollars had been lranchl Most Popular Teacher Hazel Klrkup Most Popular Curl ohn l'lynn Most Popular Boy Very suitable and useful prlzes gold pxeces worth two dollars and a half were awarded the wmners ln chapel the fol lowing week On the evemng of February l3th the Seniors held a Valentine s Ddncc ln the high school audltorlum Flhe music contributed by Klt Hallock s Or chestra was very good and those who came thoroughly enjoyed the evening lhe Llass cleared about hfteen dollars on thls event And then oh peace' Oh Joy' During the last week ln March the benevolent Board of leducatlon actmg the well known part of Santa Claus smxled sympathetlcally on the hard working Seniors of I928 and presented them wlth a check for hve hundred dollars whlch swelled the Washlngton lqrlp fund and made llfe worth llvlng and the Trlp more than an unattalned and pleasant fantasy Stanley Kenward Z8 l l . . . .
