PURTICU DEDICATION This year, the Portico is dedicated to a person whose intellectual excellence, outstanding teaching skills, and wonderful sense of humor, together with her outward and inward beauty and charm, have touched the lives of thousands of Bay Path students over the last thirty years. She is modest about her accomplishments and talents. For example, she wrote the words to Bay Path's Alma Mater, but few people are aware of it. She has entertained hundreds of students in her home, where she tutored them before the mastery exams, and she has helped many international students learn English as a second language. She is loved and respected by her colleagues and, as doyenne of the faculty, has the honor of carrying the mace and leading the faculty procession at Commencement. She will retire from her position as chairperson of the Humanities Division at the end of this academic year. Mrs. Muriel J. Mitchell, the class of 1985 will affectionately remember you as a teacher who has taught us a deep appreciation for literature and the English language.
