M t I '40, a In 1969 when we, the Class of 1971, came to Bay Path as Juniors, he began his first year of teaching at this school. In only two years he has earned the consid- eration and devotion of each one of us. It may be his contagious smile, which radiates mischief, that makes him so special. It may be the combination of ambition and compassion that makes us want to fulfill his great- est expectations with enthusiasm. There is something truly awesome about a man who eats lunch with us in- stead of hiding in the faculty corner every dayg who passes back corrected tests to us within two days of the exam, who understands, observes and discovers the col- lege experiences which influence our behavior, who lis- tens to his students gravely, and responds to them with warmth. We are young women, achieving an identity and indi- vidualism by overcoming challenges, and learning through new experiences. To a man who has helped us cope with the problems we have encountered and the changes within ourselves, by being a constant and steadfast force, we dedicate Portico '71 to MR. CHARLES HAYWARD. S 4 v
