And in 1897, Bay Path Institute was founded to fulfill that need. For many years, the Institute served the eiij, ot' Springlield, Massachusetts, and neighboring communities with programs in secretarial science. accounting and business-teaching training. From an original enrollment of thirty students, the Institute grew. . . lor forty-eight years, the Institute expanded and continued to meet the chal- erige brought about by the modern needs of the twentieth century.
