message from the president 21? t 4 5 , , ' re ,, r, Alternating periods of stimulating prosperity and enervating depression, of pre- carious peace and ruinous war, of revolution and counterrevolution have made the twentieth century one of the most fearful and most violent in recorded history. Consequently, young adults face a more challenging future than most generations. lt is difticult to be prophetic in a time of radical social change, only fools make confident predictions about the future lives of contemporary college students. There are, however, some principles of living which stand the test of time and change. These principles are those which you learned in your homes and which, with greater maturity and the benefit of your Bay Path education, you have grown to accept through understanding. A belief in the principles of human dignity, respect for the freedom and integrity of others, and the strength to overcome any adversity which might beset you are traits which will serve you well. My wish is that each of your lives will be full and rewarding. Thomas G. Carr, President Bay Path Junior College 6
