The weather' cle.ired for ottr campus picnic and the start of new friendships and .t new life. .Ks .t sanding down of the rough edges left frotn our high school tears. Bax Path sponsored an Elizabeth Arden Clinic. I'htis we began ottr college career and prepared for our role in the business world. We had no sooner settled down to the routine tasks of keeping ottr own rooms clean and studying than it was time for our Thanksgiting vacation. We soon found ourselves in the midst of YVinter Formal con- fusion. Should we wear cocktail dresses or ball gowns? Decisions! Despite the indecision over attire, the Sno-Ball was a huge suc- ces as our queen and her court graciously reigned over the nights actixities. Close on the heels of Thanksgiving was the long-awaited Christmas vacation. That meant three full weeks of concentrated laziness and fttn for most of us! Once the festivities were over, however. we had to concentrate on the hard-work realities of term papers and eter-popular exams. Through the trial-and-error process-mostly error-we finally learned how to avoid getting detnerits. The new tear of 1961 brought with it a new semester and new teachers. I wonder what kind of tests he gives? There were teas, of course, which enabled us to meet and become better acquainted with the administration and the faculty. Spring vacation was followed by a serene, romantic Spring lforinal. It was the advent of a new actitity for Bay Path. For the first time an entire weekends activities were planned, with the formal as its highlight, The King and I was certainly an appropriate theme for the occasion. Uur lunior year was over in a flurry of sun bathing, exams, and Llass Day and Commencement rehearsals. When we came back to Bay Path in September, we were on familiar ground. It was so good to see everyone again! It was such fun to tneet ottr little sisters and try to match names with faces. This year was, of course, filled with teas and studded with mix- ers. But there are sotne things we'll retnetnber longer than others: Mountain Day, when the entire school went to Mount Tom and the juniors won freedom from their beanies in a rope pull, and all the songs we sang coming home on the bus. We'll never forget the Father-Daughter Banquet. Our dads entertained us with song and dance, and we decided that we'd never had finer dates. Don't forget those dances at Springfield College and the new twist rage. The underprivileged children of Springfield will always remem- ber the Christmas parties they went to, and we'll remember the fun we had. There are so many other good times to look back on. The Catnpus Competitive Sing won by the Campus Chords. Library Day when afternoon classes were cancelled so we could all help to move books to Hatch Memorial Library. The wintry night when we went caroling. The fashion shows and the Variety Show. These are the things we'll always remember. Of course we'll never forget the Winter and Spring Formals of our Senior year, for they were the last we'd share with each other. Yes, Senior year at Bay Path was full of fun-and of more hard work than any of us had ever faced before. But it wasn't long before it was all over. The beginning of the end was Class Day with our lovely queen and her court. Then came Commencement-the day of achieve- ment, of tears, of farewell-the day that marked the end of the life we had all spent together. Yes, two years had flown byg but these are the things we'll always remember and always want to relive, for these are the things that weave the Song of Myself. Mm? ff!
