One of the lasting theories established during the Greek civilization was to couple science with philosophy in achieving the basis of an ideal education. Bay Path has especially enriched our lives in the classical tradition hy its emphasis on well-rounded training in the liheral arts as well as in the development of the scientilic skills necessary to our careers. Parnassus, a mountain in Cireece representing learning and culture, is comparable to the goal toward which we have worked. When the summit is reathed on graduation day, we can begin to realize the henelit of a tested formula for the preparation of living in a modern world. in , illlllifigflfllsailjllll, n till' PV BK X 'X ills li QBEUM . . We hold an especially warm fondness in our hearts for Dean Whitford as we realize that she, too, began her Bay Path career in the fall of 1955. Her courage, strength, kindness, and wisdom have confidently guided us through our two years of college life. It is to Dean Whitford that we extend our most humble and sincere gratitude. w A 'A is, KU! lin -if ,WY Edo mf ig 0 U f 5 QQ , QQS5 3 D ALINIA XVHITFORD ' A ,rv Q Dean of the College CXQQ CD QQ L irj .2 duff' QQ fu ff aw j, L I r' L, JA 1 if-X AA 511 Q, Q Q fi ui Z E. 5 5 EQ il 'LEE IE 5 ,QA Na ' LD, SC' 'X Q ax., . - - 4 IP 5 x MR 5Ji1-TQ-g,.d1ninistration and staff . - ... , ' msnpm X , .5. ,. . It is with great sadness that the juniors say farewell to the graduating seniors. We shall, of course, miss them next year when We become seniors ourselves. Perhaps the greatest tribute we can pay them is to follow the examples they have set. It is not every class that has such a splendid group of big sisters to emulate. W'e wish them success and hope they will carry away from Bay Path pleasant memories of the juniors who, next year, assume their important role. li' 'Qu Uur Queen and Her Court 1--Q. Hail to Queen Irene! junior Memories ORIENTATION XVEEK The long awaited day finally arrived - the first day of our college careers. We soon forgot our fears as our Big Sisters took us under their wings and made us feel right at home. That first week was filled with activity: meeting new people, securing our books, and, of course, the animal fall picnic at which we, as juniors, competed against the seniors in many contests of skill. HARVEST HOP Our first informal dance was in October, 1955. The Community House was gaily decorated in the traditional fall colors, and the music was dreamy. FASHION SHOW November brought the first fashion show of the year and provided the first bit of modeling experience for many of us. How glamorous our Bay Path models looked as they glided down the staircase of Deepwood! CHRISTMAS FESTIVITIES The Christmas party, just before our departure for home, brought forth much gaiety and well-wishing. The choir and glee club assembled on the staircase to give their rendition of many beautiful carols. This was followed by the arrival of Santa fMr. Alvordj who remembered us with stockings filled with goodies. LAKE PLACID Two days of skiing, skating, sight-seeing, and merriment followed our arrival at Lake Placid. We returned home utterly exhausted and with aching muscles, but our many happy memories served as sufficient compensation. SPRING FORMAL This time it was our turn to sponsor the formal - Carousel. The girls were smartly clad in their pretty pastel formals which were complemented by the gold tans acquired by the pool. It was our turn to welcome our Little Sisters and the other juniors. CLASS ELECTIONS Once again we went to the polls to elect the leaders of our class. What better choices could we have made than President, Joann Exnerg Vice-President, Joyce Ditomassig Secretary, Irene Talley, and Treasurer, Meg Grady? ELIZABETH ARDEN DAY This annual event was held on November 8. At that time, representatives from Miss Arden's studio in New York instructed us in good grooming: how to wear our hair, the secrets of a glowing complexion, and how to keep our youthful figures. SILVER SYMPHONY The long-awaited Christmas formal was really a credit to our class. All who attended will agree that it was a perfect evening. DINNER PARTIES For the first time in the history of Bay Path, a Christmas dinner was held for both the dormitory and off-campus students. After the delicious meal, the group joined around the Christmas tree at Empsall to sing Christmas carols. Also, on April 25 the college had a candlelight dinner party for the commuters at Deepwood Hall. The surprise feature was the arrival of the accordionist for group singing. GRADUATION Little needs to be said about this big day in our lives, for it will stand out above everything else as we think back on our college days. It was with pride that we walked up the steps to receive our degrees. It was a happy day, yet a sad one: happy because we had reached the goal for which we had been workingg sad because we were leaving Bay Path, the place which was now so much a part of us. 1 F It Q31 bug.: f'Qf ' q 9 - ' M :QM-, w1?f - Rx o as I - -xg Q., 4' Senior Memory Photos ' V+-W J -' H ' .., , . f y -LV I A , , A A 7 F Az W A 9 .54 . r f , -?
