The Invocation was made by Mr. Passmore. After a very nice Buffet Dinner, The class Will was read by Linda Smallman and David Trantham, the Prophecy was read by Kim Dedman and Brad McKeel. and a response was made by Tim Humble. After the Banquet activities were completed, everyone retired to the High School Gymnasium at Bay for the Prom. The D.J. was Mark Taylor of Jonesboro. The decorations were very attractive. Mark Morgan doing his part to get the streamers up. Becky Bowman looks so pretty, she was escorted by Dave Moore. Tiny Jackson and Mary Finley just finished the bows on the bridge. om Darren Fields in his best bib and tucker for the evening. The lobby of the gymnasium was as decorated as the gym was. The students visited with each other in this area. The parents provided refreshments and everyone seemed to sense this was a signal for the beginning of the end of the Seniors' year. The community celebrated with a parade, floats, booths, music, speeches and an old train was pulled through town for the occasion. UJecith er St ory On Tuesday, April 3, 1984 after school was out for the day, the weather became very scary and threatening. Anthony Neeley had the opportunity to use his camera to record the twister that cut a path through our area. The two photographs on this page show it nearly half a mile to the north of the school campus. The damage reported was nearly 5.5 million dollars. Two families from the school district lost their homes. The Jerry and Sandy Barnes Family and the Larry Stanley Family. School was out 1 day because of no power for water Nearly a week after a close call, the weather reared its ugly head again. This time we were in school. Everyone was rushed to the halls. The sky was very, very dark. The rain was very heavy. Here Sam Whitaker, Deanna Spencer and several other classmates share a table. The Art Class came over from the metal building, Mrs. Hudspeth's group joined them in the hall. It was very tempting to want to go see what was happening Coach Layer and Mr. Griffin kept watch outside the back door. Roy Lyles and several others watched from the window in Mr. Horner's room. In another hallway, Mrs. Reagan and her students joined Coach Richardson and her group. -Annual Staff WorLh of) - j une 1983 On June 1, 1983, 4 members of the Bay Annual Staff attended a Work- shop at ASU. Since all of the Staff was not able to attend, Mr. Tim Brown, our representative with the Walsworth Publishing Company held a brief workshop for the Staff after school began. He talked about Budget, Sales, Layout, Copy, and Pica, Picas, Picas. Pam Jeffers, and Dana Hamrick listen very carefully. Awards In an effort to reward the Bay Students for their efforts in academic studies, each student who has earned a B Average and above, was awarded a Letter B with the symbol of the Lamp of Knowledge embroidered on it. This is similar to the letters earned by athletes for ahtletic ability. Those pictured are: Wendy Holmes, Rhonda Burton, Sherry Reeves and Chad Colbert. Spirit Week is held the week before the Homecoming Basketball Game and Beauty Pageant. All kinds of activities are carried on. This year we had Hat Day, Mafia Hit Day, Punk Rock Day, Reverse Day, Purple and Gold Day. The school day activities came to an end with class bands (air bands), and a Mr. Beauty contest. A great deal of fun was had by all.
