WILES High School Principal Elementary Principal To the Senior Class of 1965: You are completing twelve years of your basic educa- tion. This is your beginning. The world into which you will be entering is more demanding than ever be- fore. You will be facing competition that no previous generation of graduates has ever faced, in order to be a stable individual in society you must have a moral foun- dation on which to stand. The economic world of the future will be an ever changing one. You must be pre- pared to meet new challenges every year. Your educa- tional processes can never be completed if you are to achieve your ambitions of a successful citizen in some community. I sincerely hope that you will accept this challenge because you will live in a world of tomorrow that has the potentials of the highest standard of living that the world has ever known. Sincerely, WAYNE S. DENT Superintendent FACULTY MR. WARREN O'DANIEL Sr. High Science Science is one of the most for- ward looking subjects taught in America. Mr. Edgar Morrison Sr. High Social Studies Mrs. Mary Jane Nash Home Economics No, John, notFHA, FFA In agriculture boys learn the science of farming. In shop they learn to build and to repair. Three editors check copy sheets Laughing Bob and Happy Dave . . . Rosemary says, Get out of rn light - I'm busy. Bill Hammett and Jan Stotts compiled the junior pages. Jimmy White and Pat Klutts represented the Sophomore class. Organization of all publications by Phyllis. Carolyn, and Karen was set at a quick pace. Each year a dedicated staff work to achieve the goal of making a yearbook and a paper one of the school’s best, but the members must be directed by a leader. Donald Webb William Yancy - Well, this is the end of the'65Yellowjacket. We sure had a lot of fun putting the book together, I can still see Rosemary pulling her hair out as she faithfully drew up nearly every page. And Carolyn - she wasn’t much on typing, but she succeeded in making the Faculty Section more interesting than it has ever been. We didn’t hear much from David - he was always busy drawing up ads. Bob and Kathy lifted our spirits by laughing as they looked over the pictures they took. How often did I hear Bob say, Hey, you didn’t get enough pictures of me”? Clydene and Karen worked hard and they had a lot to work at - for they typed nearly every word in the book. Jimmy and Pat, Bill and Jan did wonders with their pages. I yelled a little at all of them (a lot at some of them), and Mrs. Dent - she yelled at me. I hope you enjoyed this year’s annual as much as we did. Editor s Tv ' ' ' ADVERTISERS Want The Car Tonight? A Memo from Mom and Dad To: their teen-age car drivers Let's have a grown-up look at the problems involved. We want you to have car privileges. It's great to have an additional careful, sensible driver around the house. The more careful, and sensible you are, the more you'll get the car ! And that's a promise. A teenager isn't a child. But some are older than their years in the matter of driving. Some are younger. Which are you? Do YOU have the poise and judgment to drive with care? Or are you going to let your friends talk you into jackrabbit starts, zooming around corners, high speed, races, and all the rest of the things the goof-offs do? It's up to you. Remember, you can be a good driver. Many teenager s are. But you have to try, and keep on trying. Even when no one can see you, for Pete's sake. In other words, BE AN ADULT . . . about driving. Andjustamong us adults, will you cast your eyes over the general rules below . . .and take them to heart. O Watchoutfor pedestrians, especially kids. O Stay within speed limits. O Slow down at sundown: be EXTRA careful at night. O Never overload the car with people! O Obey all traffic signs, PLEASE. O Don't throw litter from the car. O Be courteous, make way for other drivers. O Don'tdouble park to talk to people. O Don't let ANYONE talk you into drinking. O Remember, the LIVES of YOUR friends are in your hands. O Let us know WHEN, WHERE, and HOW you are going, with whom . . and what time you'll return! Have a good time! Pardon the preaching. But this driving business is real serious. And we do happen to have a certain affection for you. To put it bluntly, we want you to come home safe and sound.
