Will you remember the football, basketball, and baseball games, the track meets, the pep as- semblies? We will, and we'Il remember the men behind all these activities that were so much a part of our school life. The spirit this year was a tremendous example of what school spirit is and what it can do. Back of it all were the five coaches of our athletic teams. Working behind the scenes, giving up most of their spare time, racking their brains, biting their nails, and sweating it through, these tive men contributed much to making the sports events of the past year memorable ones. ln appreciation and gratitude, we, the class of 1958, dedicate this Blue Book to the coaches of Bay High as a small way ot saying Thanks! 41 school life LIL! , F Vf i . f f 'fs ', f r NA f 5 ..-ol J .I wx. The play, revolving around a family in which the father takes care of the children and domestic affairs earning him a nomination as Mother of the Year, proved to be a hilarious production. A few high points of the play were Charlie Pimsner's interpretation of the bluster- ing Sergeant Lutzfelderg the infamous lights-out scene, Jean Ruby's torch singingg and the many amusing od libs throughout the play. It initiates laws for the benefit of the school and, through its advisor, Mr. Klimko, helps to maintain cooperation between students and faculty. The Council's many service projects, such as stu- dent handbooks, the Homecoming ceremonies, Christ- mas trees, and the Citizenship cups require a great deal of money. Funds are provided in large part by the sale of refreshments at the concession stand during football games. G. Hinzman, D. Korsgaarcl. Dragnet was never like thisl The confidence of the administration in the students' ability to handle their affairs is shown in the Tribunal, the student court. Its members are appointed from the Student Council or are elected. Their iob is to decide the fate of violators of Coun- cil and administration rules. President ..... . . . The initiates, ten per cent of the junior class and five per cent of the senior class were inducted in the tradi- tional candle lighting ceremony. To be elected a member, one must possess four characteristics: scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Scholarship is defined as at least a three point average. To fulfill the leadership requirement, a student must accept responsibilities in major extra-curricular activities. Character means the possession of high morals and a good reputation, and the service require- ment is based upon service tothe school and community. . i The students with these four qualities are chosen by a committee of faculty members and are thus re- warded for their efforts by becoming a member of this national group. officers president .... . . . Within three minutes after the kickoff of the Olmsted Falls game the Rockets had scored a touchdown. The Blue 8 White finished up with a 28-O win. Then came the River game and another revenge.
