Elected by the voters for o tour-yeor term, the members do not receive salaries. Their duties include determining the policies of the four schools, hiring the superintendent, and employing all school personnel, upon the recommendation at the superintendent. They also supervise the building and maintenance of all schools. At present, they ore awaiting the open- ing of the newest grade school, Westerly. The school is scheduled to open in the fall of l956.
