Senior Class Histor What terminated un Bay l-lugh School June 9 l955 began un the same place then Parkvuew thurteen years earluer Members of the Class of 55 took their first toddlung education bound steps un its hal lowed halls and years later marched theur last mule together to the pompous strains of the Processuonal Luke Aluce and the proverbual mushroom they but hard unto the fruut of knowledge and grew and grew and grew lt all began un Mrs Ranney s pre school class where Kay and Gay Rothaermel and Sue Hook claum membership un that furst famed kundergarten There they learned all sorts of useful things luke how to keep tume un the rhythm band and haw to make clay ash trays wuth theur own hand prunt In furst grade school began un earnest ln between Duck Jane Sally Puff and Spot students found tume to appear un the furst ofa long series of musical productions Dressed as crepe paper and cotton snow parents Another enjoyable furst of a ser ues was Nancy Hocketts birthday party featuring home movues and a peanut hunt Second grade flew by and by thurd grade the youngsters were quute grown up Rag Coulton and hus rendutuon of Shoo Fly Pue were much un demand and the gurls vued for the dustunctuon of carryung hum around on their shoulders Paddle to the Sea the story of a carved wooden lnduan was dramatuzed by Mrs Thornton s geog raphy class Each school day began wuth David Clark s kussuna each gurl good morn ung That same year the first classmate to be puerced by Cupid was Gay Rothaer mel .lum Redunger took advantage of the maul servuce to send her love letters Untul fourth grade the small fry from the east end of the vullage attended the only grade school un Bay at that tume whule West enders stayed un the hugh school Crowded condutuons at Parkvuew however forced the classes to be thrown together at Forestvuew where ruvalry between the two factuons erupted About thus tume the Roth aermel twuns and Sue Hook became the proud owners of three guunea pugs a truck loaded wuth guunea pugs had overturned at Wolf and Bassett Roads and the gurls seuzed thus opportunuty and the anumals to acquure some pets Chrustmas un grade school was always extra specual and un the art classes labors of love were created to surprise long suffer ung parents From the ash trays un kunder garten to the wooden plates paunted wuth lnduan symbols un thurd grade each guft was from the heart The culmunatuon of all these Yuletude efforts was reached un fourth grade when the luttle cherubs laboruously stutched a tree of lufe on whute lunen Glenview was ready for openung by fifth grade There the class became agule through Muss Byrd s settung up exercises each mornung A baton became a must for Glenview gurls so each recess was spent umutatung the cheering done by older sisters were the stars of a newspaper artucle con cernung Mrs Sanford s unuque hustory clas ses un which maruonettes and puppets dramatuzed hustorucal events All the stu dents made paper mache maruonettes and produced a Thanksguvung extravaganza Barb Wheeler and Dave co starred and Judue Harris embarked upon her luterary career by wrutung the play Forestvuew Glenvuew ruvalry became un tensufued Al Purnat and Bradley Sheets seuzed an unopportune moment on a uount fueld trup to explore on theur own The next day they shame facedly appeared before the Glenview class to apologuze for gettung lost However the climax un school loyal tues was reached un the annual Army Navy baseball game Feelings ran hugh between the two and even though Forestvuew s bug league gurl putcher Carol Hess threw her deadluest balls Glenview capped thus and the next year s games Wuth the dawnung of the funal grade tContunued on page 997 twenty r 1 I 1- O - . 2 , . . . . .
