Wolf. gfudenf Gounci The Student Council of Parkview High is a governing body composed of representatives of the various clubs, organizations, and homerooms of the school. The people who are on Student Council are elected by the stu- dent body of the school. A group of students eligible for the presidency is presented to the stu- dent body who elect the president from that group. One member of the Council's Tribunal is elected from the high school at the same time. The other three members on the Tribunal are elected by the Council from its own membership. These four, with the Student Council President, make a Tribunal of five students who act as the disciplinary force of the Council. The monitor system and the honor study halls are olso set up by the Council. ln February the Student Council took time out to enjoy a dinner party held in the school cafeteria. This wos pronounced a success by everyone who attended it. The Placement Bureau, which was established last year as a clearing house between the students who wish part-time work and the people who want their help, is still in full effect. Eoch year a citizenship cup is presented by the Student Council as an aword to one boy and one girl of the senior class who have been recognized as outstcinding citizens of the school, The principal, the senior class adviser, and the Student Council adviser select the people who are to receive the awards from a list compiled by the faculty. The awards this year were received by Don Bussman and Connie Watson. At the end of the year Student Council had its annual weiner roast for the incoming Council. 28
