The purpose of this council is to insure closer coop- eration between the clubs and to work closer with the student body through the Student Council. The |.C.C. helps to plan and carry out many of the larger activities that the Bay High student body under- takes, such as: Homecoming, “Teens Against Polio Drive,” and Twirp Week. 1 | Miss Nancy Lewis represented Civic Club as home coming queen can- didate. i cIviC CLUB OFFICERS: George Gainer, Vice-President; Marie Lisenby, Secretary; Dewey Conrad, Parliamentarian; Madeline Penton, Treasurer, and Ken Strickler, President; escort }the parents around our school on Parents’ Night. Lluh Livic | || | | | The Civic Club.is Bay High’s chief service organiza- tion. It is composed of elected representatives from each homeroom, and selected interested persons. Miss Sarah Jay is.the sponsor. The main objective of the club is to encourage citizenship and service in the school and community. The Civic Club has really ranked high this year in competitive activities. Because of the great enthusiasm | The officers observe the results of the Christmas Basket Drive. and participation of the members, the club won Ist place in the Teens Against Polio Drive and also won Ist prize for their float in the Christmas Parade. Other activities sponsored by the Civic Club were Parents’ Night and the gathering and distribution of Christmas baskets for needy families. Bay High is certainly proud of this excellent service organization. Ken Strickler receives cash award from Jaycee members, Mr. Bloom and Mr. Conrad, for the Club’s prize-winning float in the Christmas parade.
