opotlight On You As You Learn TERM PAPERS-+ CHEMISTRY FORMULAS--LATIN TRANS- LATION—one more year of school. After the usual petitions to abolish homework failed, Baytowners settled down to another year of fun, worry (?), and worthwhile effort. Once again teachers pulled out their old exams and Coach Oliver put to use his “board of education.” Mrs. Oliver had the usual number of book deficiencies, and regular book checks uncovered scores of lost library books that had been hiding (?) in students’ lockers. Football prac- tice moved along in the mud, the band played on, glee clubs were organized, Mrs. Brown sent out innumerable college transcripts, and student guidance was on its way. These things do not happen without planning! Planning and lots of it! Even though we fuss about the results of such planning—homework and courses—we are really grateful for a faculty of very competent teachers. Not only do they fill our heads with facts and figures, but they help us to prepare for adult life and its many responsibilities. It is a significant fact that the best schools are the ones which maintain a rather stabilized faculty. Here again, Bay High comes to the fore! Many of our key teachers have worked in our school for more than a decade. Teacher stability such as this, makes long-range educational plan- ning possible. Again let us spotlight Bay High Schools phenomenal growth from a faculty of seven members in 1926 to a present staff of eight-five qualified teachers. Page One Hundred One
