I-IOMECOMING. .. Parade. . .pep rally. . .Big Blow. . .presenta- tion of Hnalists. . game. . .coronation ceremony . . .and dance. As Homecoming Week sailed in, in November of ,57. Scads of planning for the traditional event at Bay High, took the pain and time of clubs and their sponsors. Settin, the woods on fire! The seniors began to realize the importance of time during Homecoming activities. After working on the annual event for three consecutive years many felt lumps in their throats as they sang the Bay High Alma Nlater and listened to Queen Sheila Leto present her speech on Homecoming night. I45 Standing on the corner. . . On Thursday night before the game on Friday the students gathered in the rear of the gymnasium to watch skits which were pre- sented by various clubs, to yell the familiar cheers, led by Bayls cheerleaders, and to wit- ness the ,57 Big Blow. A huge bonfire helped to lighten the spirits of the crowd. . .The five Homecoming finalists for queen were presented after the Big Blow. Clubs sponsoring queen candidates met after the Big Blow to decorate convertibles to be used in the parade. Homecoming Friday. . .a very busy day. . . especially for queen candidates' who had to rush to get to their convertibles before the pa- rade began. Homecoming Queen, Miss Sheila Leto, gracefully accepts a bouquet of red red roses from Allen Miller, Senior Class President. HOMEOOMING EVENTS Five lovely ladies smile as they were chosen as the five finalists for Home- coming. They Were: Mary Lou Water- field, Ruthie Howell, Boots Alford, Ann Johnson, and Sheila Leto. Tommy Cooley, Student body President, and Allen Miller, Senior Class President, escort the smiling Homecoming Queen, Sheila Leto, off the football field as her court and their scorts follow.
