FETTIG Advisor esSage rom @ ean We have completed another year at Bay City Junior College. For some it has been a year in which far reaching decisions were made . . . decisions which will be of importance for years to come. For others it has been just another year of educational experience. Whatever the year has brought in terms of major events there were some other happenings that brought pleasure to all. This book records some of these. It is my hope that in recalling the events of the year this Crucible will lighten your load in years to come. dh doitn istration THE ADMINISTRATION: Mr. Palmer Kern, A.B., B.S., Dean of Men, Director of Athletics, Swimming Coach, Veterans’ Advisor; Mr. Robert Stuart, A. Lies Bay City Junior College.” As we leave J.C. our minds ramble over these phrases from our Alma mater. We will be both joyous and sad to say good-bye to the building which has given us shelter in our first two years of college life. All the events of the past years flash through our minds as we com- mence a new, exciting life. Remember the basketball games, the successful season of the swimming team, the Vet's Dance, the Crystal Ball, and Sadie Hawkins Day? These and all the other activities made the two years whiz by but best of all was Baccalaureate, the Commencement Dance, the J.C. Spread, and fi- nally graduation. For most of us there will be many different and almost frightening experiences ahead, such as larger colleges, military and business worlds to conquer but we will go forward into the future with confidence and hope. ‘‘Hail To Thee Our Lov- ing Mother, Hail! Remember the Business Ad Club’s spring formal, the “Business Cycle’? Everyone loved that music. And that picnic sponsored by the Socio-Geographic Club. More fun!! The Women’s League offered many parties for the girls. The boys weren't left out either, they enjoyed the candy and cookies from the Bake Sales. The Vets’ Club did a swell job of running the Tower Lounge. Thanks again, Vets! Everyone en- joyed the “Sweetheart Prom” which the Tetra Sci Club sponsored. The Crystal Ball was a huge suc- cess—thanks to the Social Committee. They really worked hard. Phi Theta Kappa members sponsored two ban- quets for those who “made the grade”’ scholastically. Congratulations to those who did!! Yes, this year all the parties were full of fun and enjoyment for everyone. 23 Seated: Lois Forbes, Charles Egeler, Marge Niedzielski, Miss Erma Hodgson, Shirley Peck, Jim Bullis, Al Feld- man, Martha Duffy.
