A presenta- tion of “The Pot Boilers’, a one-act comedy, was given for an all-school assembly. Following this the club sponsored the Engineers’ Hop for which Len Luplow’s swing band furnished the music. A few weeks later the engineers met at the Schuck Hotel in Saginaw for a chicken dinner. During the evening those present inspected a collection of rare antiques belonging to Mr. Schuck. On May 30, for its annual field trip, the club visited the Great Lakes Steel Corporation in Detroit. Here the club members watched the process of manufacturing steel plant rails and sheet steel for rail- roads. The purpose of such trips is to broaden the students’ knowledge of actual processes used in manufacturing. L296 2
