Ahemlii The Seniors started their last year off by getting the Freshmen off to a good start in their first year of high school. Many comic strip characters were seen around the school that day, bowing to the Seniors and the line Most Honorable Senior the favorite to our ear. Popeye, Superman, Aunt Jemima, and Elmer Fudd were just a few of the characters portrayed. In the evening, we proved we weren't so bad after all by giving a party in their honor. Entertainment was provided by the Freshmen as they were put through different stunts for Truth Or Consequences. Dancing, refreshments and fun for all comprised the rest of the evening, and the Freshmen decided it wasn't so bad after all. Nam. Saints And Be Gory' On March 20, 1959, the Sophomores pre- sented the high school with a St. Patricks Party. Everyone not wearing green was set to work seeing who could blow the biggest bubble. Entertainment was furnished by the men teachers with a hula-hoop contestg a skit by Sandra Jones, Gerald Burkhardt, Raymond Fuller, and Linda Needhamg and David Cool pantomimed I Haven't Been Home For Three Whole Nights ! The rest of the evening was spent with dancing, refreshments, and lots of fun for all. Junior5 gMake Debut In uGrandma's Best Years I've never been so humiliated in my whole life. The Juniors did a wonderful job decorating the school lunchroom in the theme, Oriental Gardens. The colors, red and white, were carried out in the streamers that adorned the walls and ceiling. A huge dragon watched over the festivities at the south end of the room. The Banquet table carried out the Oriental theme. A delicious meal was prepared and served by the Junior Mothers. The Juniors presented a program following the Banquet consisting of 3 ml1SiCa1 pantomime by four Juniors and the reading of the Senior Will and Prophecy. The Prom was held with Max Jontz and his Orchestra furnishing the music. A movie, Glory , was enjoyed by all who could stay awake, Breakfast was then served at the Countryside Restaurant after which a tired but happy group returned to their homes for a good day's sleep. After many Dairy Queen stops we arrived at All States Village in Columbia, Missouri. That evening we spent as we pleased. Next morning, bright and early, we hit the road again. We stopped at Jefferson City to see the Capitol and the prison, where none was left behind. After lunch we arrived at Kapilana Beach. The rest of the afternoon was spent swimming, boating, exploring the beach, meeting new friends, and just plain messing around. That evening we were picked up on our beach along with other groups by the excursion boat, the Larry Don, where we spent the next two hours dancing and getting acquainted. Upon returning to our beach we had a weiner roast, where we stuffed ourselves with hot dogs, marshmallows, and pop. We then returned to our cabins for a good night's sleep!'?!?! The next morning we went through the Ozark Caverns, visited Dog Patch, and shopped until dinner time. We spent the afternoon as we pleased, which included renting two speed boats, which proved to be a lot of fun. That evening we went to the Ozark Opry, which was enjoyed by all. Another weiner roast was held upon returning to the beach. At 7:30 Sunday morning a very tired group started out for home. We had a picnic lunch, prepared by the resort, at a roadside park. We arrived home at 4:45 p.m. with a grand time to remember for years to come. . -4,- 9 .J Notgrious Senigrg Ma Sz Pa Kettle in the OZ21l'kS????? Being good for a change!!!!!!!!
