S, 4' l SENIORS September 5, 1950, the hell rang, calling all classes back to school, but the seniors re- turned to their last memorable year of school. Nearly everyone had two conflicting thoughts - one of happiness in completing school and making preparation for our future lives and one of sadness as we realized that the hell would ring no longer for us, A few highlights to remember are as follows: our home room which proved to be an advantage . . . the senior boys who were on the team-Wilson, Kauffman, Clark, Henkler, Luse, Smith, and Shigley . . . our first basketball game which ended victoriously - Bris- tol 30, Jiintown 53 . . , our brilliant government class and Mr. Caskey's additional grey hairs . . . all of this and more came to an end with the end of the first semester, January 12 . . . the beginning of the second semester, January 15, found us looking toward our futures with great thoughts we were measured for our caps and gowns March 30 marked the date of our senior play the Junior Senior Banquet May 12 baccalaure ate occured May 20 commencement took place on May 21 with faith hope and courage we look to the future HONOR STUDENTS VALEDICTORIAN CO SALUTATORIAN CO SALUTATORIAN Jam s Lus Yvonn D ak George Henkler ,iff J 3 ev Page Fourteen SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS ROW I Donna Gentzhorn Charles Smxth ROW 2 George Henkler .James Luse James Iullano Page F fteen If ff g V ef ,M -X, Se 1 CLASS Marjorie Anderson uul xr: nv 1 11 fl Kll I wh ' Anna Jo Burt mul I Larry Clark n Xlnnl x 1 1 N 1 1 lun 114 Yvonne Deak n ul III -:rr .L.,I, N r m Q ,.,,.,,!m, ,.u , -w - -.',. 1,1 ul .L..2.glnlu j,'1 13 f yn-:,1 r , - mic l'l1I , 'i 'I - '11 ' 1 mu' 2.1 .' 1' ' ' , 3 S 4x ' 11 '5' 1 ', N . rrvl:r' T1 3 an-'u ' 'ne llv, ills-nt -1, Stud Page Sixteen 1- gif ', uw. Fresh originality and sparkling dialogue made this a gay comedy hit. Abigail Abbot CPhyllis Mearsl, having used up most of the insurance her husband left her when he died, decides the only way she can afford to keep her daughter Susan fMarilyn Miller? in college is to take advantage of an un- u'ual scholarship which provides that anyone with the first names Abigail Fortitude is eligible for the scholarship. Right from the start she's met by a deep freeze from the Dean Cfleorge Henklerl, who suspects that this is just a practical joke or publicity stunt. Later she hears the girls of the dorm, Sylvia fYvonne Deakl, Bunny fLavon Gauglerl, Helen flrene Ehretl, Carrie fEdith Larsenl, Marg fMarjorie Andersonl and Clara fShirley Miller? discussing what a character named Abigail must be like. Mrs. Miller flris Watsonl, the house mother, is to keep her eyes open for any infraction of the rules Abby may make, however, when Abby makes her entrance, she causes a real stag-line stam- pede ot the college boys, Boho fLee Hofferthl, Jack lCharles Smithl, Howie fDon Wilson? and Bill fFlichard Shigleyl On top of all this the falls in love with her zoology in- structor, Professor Michaels CPiichard Kauffmanl who de- livers his lectures looking right into her eyes. The professor asks Abby to go to a school dance with him and she is delighted. She doesn't know that Susan has a great cru:h on the professor. Susan' foolish maneuvers re- sult in a serious misunderstanding and in outrage, Abby slap the professor. This gives the Dean an excuse to expel her. She has to watch others go off to the dance, hear her daughters recriminations, listen to the sound of the music, then go upstairs and pack. In the end, everything is straightened out by Abby marry- ing the professor and Susan staying in school.
