What is it that draws them into this field? lt couldn't be those sweet, innocent, well-behaved teenagers or could it be the easy, kick back type of job? Since we have such top-notch teachers at school, we asked a few of them to comment. JERRY CORBIT: I like to see peo- ple grow intellectually and to see them change from being depen- dent on others to being indepen- dent in class, halls and sports. MARTHA CRISE: ul like to work with young peopIe. TRUETT MCCCULLAH: Just like being around kids. I enjoy their sense of humor. Sometimes they don't feel like joking though and I can understand that. RUTH MCKINSEY: I like to watch high school kids growing, maturing, getting new ideas that will help them cope with life. JIM SQUIBB: I enjoy being with young people. They help keep me young. Every year the student counc works with Mr. Huckaby to set some goals for ou school. Too many times these goals are los somewhere in the middle of the school year. Thi: wasn't the case this year. More school spirit anc pride could be observed. More student involvement in numerous activities occurred Higher academic grades were achieved. Top winning sports records were won in conference and state competition. Our students took the O right steps for a new direction at BMHS 0
