graduation 1974 The Trojan band provided music for the occasion. Valedictorian Cathy Singleton speaks to the graduating class. The graduating exercises for the class of 1974 were held on Friday, June 7, 1974 at 8:00 p.m. in the John S. Battle stadium. Cathy Singleton was val¬ edictorian, and Larry James was salutatorian. The remaining top ten scholastic seniors were Mary Sue Bennett, Jerry Chorosevic , Janet Hensley, Susan Horne, Tracy Necessary, Rita Sheffev, Steve Spires and Karen Stine. The class of 1974 chose for its class flower the daisy, simple yet beautiful in its simplicity. The class colors of green and white reaffirmed that they were Trojans, through and through. The days spent walking the halls and sitting in class were remem¬ bered and so the class song became “We May Never Pass This Way Again.” And the class motto brought to eye the individuality, courage and pride each senior had in himself, his future and the world: “I am not afraid of tomorrow for have seen yesterday and I love today.” That piece of paper” for 12 years of work. 20
