Miss JSB The Miss John Battle Pageant, sponsored by the P.T.S.A., was held March 24, 1973. Mistress of Cere¬ monies was Reba June Green. Rita Sheffey pro¬ vided music for the pre¬ sentations and Eddie Sproles and Jonathan Ble¬ vins entertained. Janet Otey was crowned Miss JSB. First runner-up was Cathy Romanowski, sec¬ ond runner-up was Debbie Johnson, third runner-up was Linda Owens and fourth runner-up was Kim Kennedy. Miss John Battle and runners-up. AWARDS 1973 Business department awards went to (LEFT TO RIGHT): Teressa Caudill, Typing I; Joyce Barker, Typing II; Linda Godfrey, Shorthand I; Mary Young, Shorthand II; Marsha Snader, Bookkeeping; Wanda Dishner, Most Outstanding Business Student. The Awards Assembly was held May 23, 1973. Awards were presented to outstanding students for their achieve¬ ment in school. Awards were also presented for perfect at¬ tendance. All Regional Chorus Awards were received by Becky Nunez, Paula Barker, Phil Young, Danny Deskins, Chris Slemp, Darrell Dyson. The most outstanding members of the chorus were Danny Godsey and Loretta Duckett. 30
