Battle High School is now in its eighth year of operation with an enrollment of 1208 and a faculty of 63. A great fleet of school buses bring the majority of students attending the high school in from all parts of the county. More than 50% of the students enrolled at John Battle live closer to another school in the county or the city of Bristol than they do to John Battle. Eight years ago when John Battle opened its doors to the students for the first time, there was no stadium, no field house, no parking lot, no freshman or 8th grade classes to recall just a few things about that first year. Today, eight years later, there have been many changes in curriculum, numbers of students and faculty and staff, additions inside and out. Many of these changes and the outstanding events of the current year will be shown in this volume of the yearbook.
