Our days at B. G. H.S. have been happy ones and have gone by too quicklylfor most of us. We anticipate the future with eagemess but when graduation night becomes a reality and we have to actually say goodby to many of our friends and to the school which has meant so much to us, the ioy of accomplishment, will be mingled with feelings of regret. ,xx W0 .5 x IOANN ELVESTROM JIM GUARD 'l lg B l kd! 5 Treasurer jf ' Sergeant at Arms Dy Nl A l' J l ki ' '.-5 'l H fl f I' 1 -' LORRAINE ARMSTRONG Being good is an awful lonesome job. FUTURE HOMEMAKERS 0F AMERICA Through the active leader- ship ot Andrea Good, F. H.A. is a thriving organization. Not only is this group connected with our school but it has a monthly proiect for the purpose of becoming more closely acquainted with the community. These projects include helping the needy, the old folks' home, and hos- pitals. The F. F.A. banquet in Marci was a success largely through the efforts ofthe F. H.A. girls. These ambitious girls both help prepare the food and serve it. Two high school girls attended the State Meeting at the University ot Washington during the month of April. Thus another interesting year tor the F. H. A. 'ers is completed. President Andrea Goa Vice President . . . . . . . . Frances Abernatt Secretary .. . . Judy Armstron , Treasurer . . . . . SPURTS Awww TIGERS Battle Ground's slashing Tigers had a change of season. They started by losing a not so close one to the Camas Papermakers 7-26. The following week we came back to give our long-rivals, Fort Vancouver, a run for their money but still lost by a score of 6 to 13. The next two weeks spelled defeat for the Tigers. We lost to The Dallas and Chehalisf the latter of which was our homecoming game. These scores were I3 to 20 and O to I3 respectively. The Tigers made their comeback by beating St. Martin's Rangers, 27-14. The Tillamook squad spelled defeat for the Bengals again by a score of 6 to 13. The varsity was beaten for the last time by the Washougal team by a score of 7-20. Our boys came home with the bacon the last two games with defeats over Scappoose and Evergreen by scores of 27-I2 and 20-0. The leading yard gainers for the season were Norman Jones with 550 and Merl Brothers with 532. The Tigers as a team gained IGO8 against their opponents 1448. .V.'s Battle Ground Tiger Cubs, began their season with a very close one at the State School for the Deaf. They managed to squeeze out a 6-6 tie. Ridgefield next came to Battle Ground and, unhappily for us, went away with a I2-6 win. When Battle Ground visited Kelso, Lady Luck seemed to have been on the outs with us as we came back with a I4-6 defeat. Fort Van- couver too, came to B.G,H,S. and left with a 27-6 win over the Tiger Cubs. Longview came, saw, and conquered with a whopping 34-0. Evergreen again sank our Hope Ship as they torpedoed a 28-6 victory. Camas was not so lucky as some of the other teams and came out with only a I2-0 victory, 20-6 was the score when our Jayvees slashed and tore apart the Washougal Panthers.
