CLASS PROPHECY After yours truly Tony Cobb graduated from college and was thoroughly settled rn lrfe I de cded to look up all of my old frrends at BGA Thrs was all very well and good but the trouble was that I couldnt locate even one of them Frnally n desperatron I contacted the FBI as to therr whereabouts and was shocked to hear that they had been deported by the Kefauver commrttee It seems that one of therr number Burr McMagoob who used the alras of Burton Glover rn thrs coun try used hrs clarm to the Scottrsh throne to obtarn asy um for hrmself and hrs assocrates and was now krng He had of course used some of hrs former classmates rn settrng up hrs government Promrnent among these were Trey Russell who had become mbassador to Parrs and Johnson Terry who was ambassador to New Mexrco It was Johnson who sent me an rnvrtatron to fly back to Scotland wrth hrm and see how all our old BG A boys were occu pred these days My wrll power weakened and I accepted so we were on our way On the plane Johnson and I both recognrzed a group of screntrsts the pressrng problems of the day Among them was Vance Akrn who garned fame by hrs brologrcal work wrth whrte rats rn an efforts to stamp out bu bonrc plague AI Mervrlle had rust drscovered Wetbackrum the wonder element and was of course elated over that We soon landed rn Iceland and transferred to an automobrle to drrve to Scotland over the brrdge burlt by the famous engrneers Box Hawkrns and Tommy Bragg Arrrvrng rn Glasgow we drove to the hotel run by De Bow Casey the tycoon of the crty and prcked up a late edrtron of the newspaper Much to my surprrse I drscovered Larry Putman was the edrtor He was assrsted by such greats as Noel Brown the socrety columnrst Larry Stumb the great sportswrrter and Bobby Street the world famous humorrst But rt was very late and we were very hungry so we decrded to frnd a good restau rant We frnally s ttled on The Prt run Sleepy Anderson Brll was very glad to see us and pornted out our old frrend Russell Farnsworth who was now engaged rn manufacturrng rnono gramed paramas Russell suggested that we all go see the professronal basketball game featurrng the Glasgow Gators led by center Curt Srngleton who had scored over IOOO pornts thrs season I-low ever Johnson and I had our hearts set on seerng the newest Western by Slrpalong Spotts Our plans were cut short Bobby Trousdale a had come down wrth the dreaded racoon fever We rushed out to the hosprtal only to frnd that the medrcal team of Howard Smrthson Johnny MacMahan and Bob Naprer had brought hrm though when we heard that promrnent banker rn town through rn frne fashron Relaxrng after the events of the evenrng I turned on the televrsron rn my hotel room and heard announcer Rrchard Ashworth makrng the sta tron break and rntroducrng Prckslay Cheek and hrs Range Busters a fane hrllbrlly outfrt Brrtt Knox the famous rug player was featured along wrth Sam Hardy the vocalrst However thrs program grew so rowdy and uncouth that I swrtched to somethrng more rntellectual and Irstened to a panel drscussron by three world frgures of the day Frrst was Henry Chase who had garned fame by spear headrng a move to found a home for mentally rncompetant math teachers Second was the great expert J Fred Sapp who defended Brll Breedlove n h famous Iawsurt wrth the Orkrn extermrnators Thrrd on the panel was the foremost drplomat of our trme Hervrn Romney of Cuba However my set became a Irttle fuzzy rn the mrddle of the show so I resolved to call Davrd McGavock s TV servrce rn the mornrng On Sunday mornrng I went to the great cathedral rn Glasgow to hear a sermon by the Rev Lewrs Steele He was one of our leadrng scholars and l was very fortunate to get to hear hrm Sunday afternoon came and I was forced to say goodbye to Burrs krngdom and to all my former classmates However I was well satrsfred wrth therr varrous successes and my trarn of thought was broken by Morses Behar the arrlrne trcket agent tellrng me my plane was ready Page 19 I ' . . .
