High Track The 1987 track season proved to be a very exciting and suc- cessful one for the jr. High Bomberettes. They finished in the top four in every meet during the regular season. The season ended on a high note as they came in lst in the Lake-View- Aubum Invitational over a strong field. During this meet they tied or broke 5 meet records. A second place finish at the Bo- Coon Conference was another highlight. School records were set this year in the 1500 meter run by Marci Watson in 6:41.20 and Gina McBride in the 200 meter hurdles in 34.35. The season ended with the jr. High State Meet and the State junior Division Outdoor Meet fgrades 7-93 both in Ankeny. Bomberetres finished 13th in the former meet and llth in the latter. Stanclout performances were: Stacy Hamann's 3rd place in the 200 meter dash and 5th in the 400 meter dash, the 454400 meter relay of Karrie Spots, Stacy Peters, Tricia Van Houten, and Stacy Hamann finished in 3rd place. At the jr. Division: Stacy Hamann was 6th in the 200 meter dash and won the 400 meter dash in 62.65, the second fastest time in all divisions induding college age girls. Suzie Ortman was 7th in the long jump and the 4x400 relay QKim Spotts, Stacy Peters, Tricia Van Houten, Stacy Hamannj finished 4th. The 1987 team were: Marcy Dausel, Sheryl Davis, Stacy Hamann, Kathy Krueger, Gina McBride, Shelli Meier, jill Reitz, Allison Rosch, Crystal Schultz, Tricia Van Houten, jennifer Vermeys, Michelle Wallace, Angela Weber, Becky Winterrowd, jennifer Bremer, Stef Goodenow, Suzie Ortman, Kelly Krueger, Sraqf Peters, Renea Schable, Chandra Schultz, Karrie Sports, Darci Uhl, Mar- ci Watson, Denise Weber, and Dawn Young. The Bomberettes' coach was Kurt Brown. The jr. High Boys' Bomber Track Team members were: f8th gradel Robert Ashley, Shannon Blackmore, Donny Bremer, Nate Goodenow, Danny Hedberg, Gerard Lansink, jason Nielsen, jeremy Reitz, joe Sohm, Donny Walls, f7th grade! Brent Brown, john Paul Dausel, jeremie Davis, Shane Good- man, Aaron Hamann, Korey Huss, Brian Krueger, Thomas Miller, Andy Schreiber, Sheldon Segebart, Ryan Vermeys. Coach Roger Christensen commented that the BCMS Bombers had a fairly successful season considering the competition they ran against. Their strong events were Held events, the 1600 open, the 400 open, and the 800 Medley Relay. Their goals were to run as well as they could and improve individual times, throws, and jumps. The Bombers made steady progress throughout the season. The 1987 record was: Wall Lake . . . 4th out of 6, Crestland . . . 4th out of 6, Conference . . . 5th out of 8, Odebolt . . . 4th out of 4, Ida Grove . . . 4th out of 6, Lake View. . . Sth out of 6.
