And an astronomer said, Master, what of Time? And he answered: You would measure time the measureless and the immeasurable. You would adjust your conduct and even direct the course of your spirit according to hours and seasons. Of time you would make a stream upon whose bank you would sit and watch its flowing. vm .g....i 4 .r .-a :Q Q.. w i 4 1 N , . 'Q I X TH gli . A . X? I BEST OF TIMES: In the fall of 1969 16 little boys and girls meet for the first time to be classmates for the next 13 years. Although we didn't like to take naps as Kindergardenersg some days as Seniors we sure could use naps. Grade School was a time for seeing which class was the toughest during recess. In fourth grade Miss Pender taught Rodney a lesson he will never forget or us for that fact. She took him down and sat on him so we could all beat on him like he wanted us to do. junior High was a continuing process of growing up and changing. We started High School with only 12 students. We grew in number as well as academically during the past four years. The graduating class of 1982 may number only 15, but we will leave a part of ourselves here at Battle Creek High School, now that we are prepared to leave. As we the class of 82 look back we realize that These are the Best of Times. Brian Druivenga wills his fool-proof flu cure to Amy Fick so she won't get sick tonight. Marc Hein, to Hank Jessen, wills this poem about the game of tennis: Float like a butterfly, and sting like a bee, but if the net's too high, leave the jumping to me! Randy Petersen wills his no-nonsense approach to camping to Todd Harrison, so Todd will know what not to do. Jeffrey Preston wills his spacious mind to Brad Brown so he'll have more room to grow. Jeff Vermeys wills his driving ability to Monica Sohm, Tyann Bainbridge, and Tricia Roecker. His advice to them is: Though the road may twist and turn, here is something you should learn, to stop the car you use the brake, not the gas, for heaven's sake, R for reverse, D for drive, follow this advice to stay alive. So if you're driving on the street, pray that you three never meet. Ann Albers wills her silent disposition to Tammy Young so she can hear what the rest of the world sounds like. Tammy Albers wills her mechanical abilities to Todd Verschoor so he will know the difference between hot and cold. Sandi Grothe wills her ability to sign excuse slips to Keith Vermeys so he can get into 5th hour without bothering Mr. Haller. Gayle Hightree wills her silent alarm clock to Linda Hickie so someone may carry on the tradition of never being on time. Rose Mary Hummelgard wills her ability to consume large quantities of food to Jodi Reitz, because Rose eats enough for both of them. Debbie Jensen wills Dave Albers, Kerry Huss, Kerwin Van Houten, and Todd Triplett brains for taking tests so they won't need the keys anymore. Tracey McBride wills her basketball shooting ability to Mike Hein so he won't shatter any backboards next year. Jean Maguire wills this advice to Jody Bockelmann and Susan Krayenhagen: Keep your feet off of heaters... they melt teniais shoes. Pam Steuk wills her cake decorating ability to Tim and Tom Fundermann, Vernon Volkman, and John Hayward so they won't push Mrs. Reistroffer completely off the deep-end. Deb Wallace wills her well rounded personality to Kim Winterrowd. And finally, we the class of 1982, wish you all the best of luck in the future, especially in Government. It's Time for Movin' On We've traveled a long, long time together, And there have been a lot of good things on the way. But now it's almost time for leavin', And the things I feel inside are very hard to say. But it's time for moving on, my friend, Hold back all the tears and sorrow, It finally is time to go our separate ways. And l want to wish you well, my friend, As we search for new tomorrows. Go as you must, but, please, Don't forget the yesterdays. Remember the dreams we dreamed together, All of the joys we shared in getting to today. Now, just one time before you leave me, Reach out and take my hand and help me walk away. For it's time for moving on, my friend, Hold back all the tears and sorrow, It finally is time to go our separate ways. And I want to wish you well, my friend, As we search for new tomorrows. Go as you must, but, please, Don't forget the yesterdays. Don Besig Jw will -'Ei VU , I, 17 L, , my .. , ,. 3' ,,,,, 5 ,-,,.f.. ' , A sf as ,XJ wg '-24 A I SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY We, the class of '83, in holding up the tradition started many years ago, have again failed to come up with a class prophecy that is in the least bit funny. But, after toiling many hours, we are now ready to submit our very serious and hopefully enriching predictions to you. Our predictions were made with the use of computers and some of the finest brains available. It should be noted, however, that the class of '83 is not responsible for the failure of any of the persons mentioned to live up to these honorable goals that we have set forth in our predictions. Andgnow, the prophecy for the class of '82 ... We predict that in the future ANN ALBERS will be an astronaut and that JEFF PRESTON will be her co-pilot .. . because they are both already somewhere in space. ROSE MARY HUMMELGARD will be a world renowned author with her best seller From Petunia Queen to Miss America to Mr. Universe. A new attraction to the Ida County Fair this year will be a freak show starring GAYLE HIGHTREE ... she is the only person we know that you can look in one ear and see out the other. Our predictions show that BRAIN DRUIVENGA is going to be an actor starring in the movie version of his own life Walking Disaster I. We predict that TRACEY McBRlDE will become the next A.J. Foyt. We believe that she will be the top female stock car racer in the world because she seems to have had enough practice here around Battle Creek already. y SANDI GROTHE will become a professional cat doctor, but her life will be shattered by a serious malpractice suit. Confidentially, it seems Sandi has been known to give her patients a cheap substitute known as Sinutab instead of their regular medicine. RANDY PETERSEN will become a genius and inventor with his new type of warmer. It seems he suffers a lot from head cold. ' I - .,sss.. A 1 'ii DEBBIE JENSEN will own her own car crushing service . . . she has already had enough practice crushing chairs. JEAN MAGUIRE will become a nursemp. and win a nobel prize for her cure of the common blitz. , In the future if you watch Monday night football, you might see JEFF VERMEYS . . . It seems he has been filling in for Howard Cosell and everyone says they can't tell the difference. Our computer told us that PAM STEUK would become a great female mud-wrestler because of her great athletic abilities. A I C Our calculations show that in ten years, DEB WALLACE will be happily married for the 12th time and will make her living by selling Walleye. :he computer broke down when we fed it TAMMY ALBERS name so we didn't know what to predict for er future.. We just hope that if she has any more slumber parties, they will be fun-filled andilever clear. Our predictions show that MARC HEIN, who is enrolling in the Army, will be stationed in Columbia and bring all the kids their own supply of Coke . .. a-Cola. In conclusion, we would just like to wish the Seniors the best of luck in whatever you do. If these prophecies do come true, don't blame usp we were onlygdoing our job. gy N K 'vnu If nf F, 51 ,Qtek gn ' if Q tw rubzf R , ,g.' 0' S Y , w 4 x ' , Q 1 1 W lzr A fx Q Q ki vo .
