MESSAGE TO THE STUDENTS Dear members of the Class of 1958: ln selectlng Manhattan as the theme of your yearbook. you have chosen a symbol of promise and ac- complishment. of -opportunlty and achievement. Manhattan. the threshold of a new world. the clty of blg dreams! Who has ever failed to be moved by the beauty of the skyline. the towering strength of man-made buildings reaching up into the Infinite? Seen from our Jersey shore at night. etched ln vertical outline agalnst a dark sky. a fairy city of tiny Ilghts beckoning, mysterious. like Camelot of old seen through the eyes of the young knight. Gareth: a clty bullt to music and therefore never built at all, and therefore bullt forever. May you. as you iourney through life, sense the promise and selze the opportunity symbolized ln our great city. May you know the satlsfactlons of high accomplishments because. like the turreted skyline. you too. will be reaching up into realms fairer than you have ever known. May the world and its mysteries be lust so many Ilghts beckoning you toward ever higher achievement. My hope for each of you ls that you may ind -llte good because you have learned to look up and llft. Slncerely. Helen V. Decker
