Since Baton Rouge High was made a magnet school for the session of 1976 1977 many changes have taken place in regard to administration, faculty, school-day and class schedules, and, of course, students. However, the original high academic standards have been maintained and upheld by teachers and students alike. This year we implimented the seven-period day with students attending first and second-hour classes daily. New courses were offered as college requirements changed and students’ needs changed, but the goal of preparing students at Baton Rouge High School for a successful college career remained the same. Our school, as always, was one of changes combined with old traditions. 18 Administration Principal Ms. Mary l.cc Guillot at the close of each school day waits at i up area to assure students' safety in departing. A member of the adminis the time Baton Rouge High was opened as a magnet school, she continues i the same high standards with enthusiasm and optimism. Assistant Principal of Instruction Mr. Harold Menard can be seen often before school in the main office helping to make our school run smoothly. Mr. Menard joined the administration for the school session of 1979-1980, and Assistant Principal of Discipline Mr. J. B. Williams became a member of the administration in 1982. The jury and the judge were both able to relate with similar episodes in the past, but they still had little sympathy for Edwin. As Angelina entered the courtroom to present her version of the story, the whole courtroom was captivated by her beauty. As the trial moved on, Edwin tried to propose various ways to reach a solution. Angelina’s lawyer objected to every proposal made. Finally in disgust, the judge, David Rollins, tired of all the objections and eager to get away, resolved that he would marry Angelina. The Consul. Joe Shicber; the Usher. Throughout the year SGA sponsored many dress-up days, including Pajama Day, Dress Up, St. Nick Day, and the all new Zoo Day. To raise money, the SGA sold ID’s and held fundraisers, such as the balloon sales. SGA was not only social this year, it also collected food for Thanksgiving Baskets and gave to the needy.
