DRAMA BOASTS The BRHS Drama Department opened its season with a comedy-mystery, Catch Me if You Can. The cast included Matt Nickerson. Linda Allor, Jimmy Grissom, Marion Starks, Santa Collins. Blake Traylor and Ferdie Lewis. The antics of six budding actors and actresses set the stage for the second production, Out of the Frying Pan.” In the cast were Grady Pinkerton, Whit Tabor, Kelly Kissel, Juli Howell, Laurann Goodrich, Jennifer Pate, Leslie Nott, Renee Horton. Matt Nickerson. Bruce Hearn, Belton Crayton and Wayne Kirkpatrick. Beckct,” a play about the relationship between Thomas Beckct and King I lenry II, completed this year’s bill. Music, Music, Music Musicianship was the key in the Music Department this year, and students enrolled in music courses excelled. BRHS’s instrumental music students earned twenty-four superior ratings and twenty-four excellent ratings at the Solo and Ensemble Festival. Elizabeth Morris, Mark Caglcy, James Gcrbrccht and Mike Bennett were named to the All-State Band; and Darlene Nelson. Steve Bennett, Marian Brent, Anne Bolner, Phillip Hill, Frank Murray and Evan Price were named to the All-State Orchestra. In vocal music. Laurann Goodrich, Leslie Nott and Bruce Hearn received state honors. Nine other vocal music students received superior ratings in district competition. Concerts were presented during the year by the Stage Band, Symphonic Band. Symphonic Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble and the Choral Music Department. 30
