Foreword The halls of Baton Rouge High School look much the same as they did seventy-eight years ago. contributing to the growth and development of the school. The laughter of students has bounced and echoed through the halls, but the quiet of classes hard at work has also crept through the hulls. The personalities of these students have seeped into Baton Rouge High School to create a unique character — a mixture of the good. the jun-loving, the eager, and the studious. Raton Rouge High School has not only matured in personality, but also in curriculum. A spirited interest in our school world and a driving need to answer the challenge of the adult world have demanded that the course of study be improved from that of seventy-five years ago. Each sophomore class enters Baton Rouge High School to obtain as much as is possible from Baton Rouge High School. Upon graduating, that same class takes a part of Baton Rouge High School with it; but Baton Rouge High School retains more than has been taken away. Over the last seventy-five years. Baton Rouge. High School has grown to its present commanding stature with grace and dignity. 7

In The 1968 Fricassee Staff feels that there are two distinguished persons among our faculty who should be recognized upon this year of retirement. Mrs. Majorie Longsdorf has guided many students through the perils of high school as our guidance counselor. She has given many extra hours of her time as she administers National Aptitude and Placement tests. As a very apt geometry teacher, Mrs. Elizabeth Howard has served as a member of Baton Rouge High's faculty for twelve years. She has dedicated thirty-one years of her life to the teaching profession. Few people realize the time and energy that she has put into our book-room. We, the students of Baton Rouge High School, thank you. 8
