Laurels to the Seniors The Fricassee of 1966 is dedicated to the Seniors, that wonderfully witty, exuberantly excitable, likable group of students. Here with pictures are some of their most noticeable traits. Seniors can bo recognized most easily at pep meetings or football and basketball games because they seem to be having a better time than anyone else. Seniors make rapt attention an enjoyable art, though not always directed at the teacher. 7 The chemistry lab, like many other Senior classes, is a room filled with doubt, despair, and determination.

DEDICA TION Youth is experimental: it begins in delight and ends in a certain amount of wisdom, but what happens in between shapes all later life. Youth, perhaps life's most rewarding age is undistilled by the innocence of infancy or the preconceived notions of adulthood. Youth is a desire to overwhelm life with joy and to bring it to terms by sheer energy alone: a girl on hands and knees throwing her hair before the sun or a boy swinging birches against the inner dome of heaven. But maturity demands the power of knowledge and the discipline of humanity. Somehow the imperishable remembrances of youth recorded here must be subordinated to the realities which infuse living with meaning. This FRICASSEE, the total expression of the students of Baton Rouge High School, their personalities and their abilities, is dedicated to the SENIORS of 1966 who are about to greet adulthood with a hearty challenge: Being of not altogether unsound mind and body, armed with some ignorance and prejudices not yet discovered as well as some excellencies not fully utilized, we the SENIOR CLASS of 1966, promise to search, to test, to question and to seek to change the world before it changes us.

Although here, but for a brief time, he has participated in most of our school activities and won the friendship of all-1 We will have other exchange students but Ernst will always be a part of us, and we hope that we will always be a part of him. In his own words Ernst describes his year wth us. Being a student at Baton Rouge High was a wonderful and interesting experience for me. When I came over here, I didn't imagine how much the school-life would mean to me. I was very much impressed by the school spirit that was s own at all of the different sports events and in the various clubs. The kindness and friendship of my fellow students made this year such a grea' success for me,- I enjoyed every day at B.R.H-am sure that I will never forget this year. To all you' who made my stay so delightful, I would e to express my sincerest appreciation.’ 18
