Recognition MRS. B. W. PEGUES Baton Rouge High School has lost one of the most outstanding mathematics teachers in the State with the retirement of Mrs. B. W. Pegues. For the past 31 years, Mrs. Pegues has been a well-known and well-loved memher of the BRHS Faculty. teaching hoth Mathematics and Home Economics. During her teaching career, Mrs. Pegues has seen many of her students go into successful fields. She has seen them grow and marry, and has had their children in her classroom. She has heen with her pupils when they faced difficulties as well as happiness. She has been with them not only literally but also in their hearts for a long time. This year Mrs. Pegues was compelled to retire because of ill healthg this news caused great sorrow at BRHS, but we know that in the long run this much needed vacation is the best thing for her. Baton Rouge High School will miss the familiar sight of Mrs. Pegues and of her lovely flower arrangements in the office and elsewhere in the building, but she has left a deep and lasting impression upon its heart.

Dedication COACH W. B. GOURRIER Dedication means, uto inscribe by way of coniplimentf' We Wish to do just that, to compliment a man so deserving of the honor. BRHS is proud of Coach Courrier. The keynote of his character is to see that BRHS is at the top of the list in sports. Ever since his high school days, Coach Gourrier has been working with athletics in some wayg he is a dedicated coach and trainer. His success stems from his kindness, his consideration for others, and his true love for the job he is doing. We all love him not only because he is our coach but also because he is always our friendg he is interested in each one of us personallyg he is conscious of the dignity of every indi- vidualg and he does all he can to help us at all times. He is a man of high integrity and his ability as a coach is unquestioned. Therefore, it is with great pride that we dedicate the 1958 Fricassee to our own Coach W. B. '4Bat Gourrier.
