Max Bryson, noted star of stage and screen, is making a personal appearance tour through the Southern States. Pally Berg, research worker for General Klee trie, has discovered a new ink that can change F’s to A s on rc|x)rt cards, ferry Allen is teaching electronics at Harvard. Mary Candella has just moved into her brick mansion on Jefferson I lighway, where she has opened her new cocker spaniel kennels. Mary Prances McLeod, a famous Powers model, has just been discovered by multimillionaire playboy, Donald Landry. Billy Gardner. noted artist, has won the Nobel Prize for his new creation Wakeless Night. Ann Weaver, noted pianist, has just completed the Unfinished Symphony.” which she dedicated to her old class of ’49. Kevin Graham is coaching the Notre Dame football team. Joyce Felps has com- pleted her nursing course at Lady of the I.ake and is now Superintendent of nurses at the new hospital. Jack Gutter and Charles Pringle after making millions from their chain grocery stores have announced their retirement to a life of ease in Florida. Robert Ladner and Henry Du font have finally settled down to a quiet life, and Hazel Amadtre is married and living in Chicago. Violet Dial has opened her Home Decorating Co. Marta Fonseca and Carmen de liazabal have returned to their homes in South America to l c married. John Morgan, famous boxing coach of I..S.U., has returned from New York with another champion boxing team. Peggy Rogers can be seen over television, playing in Life With Father. Donald Hill and Melvin Roe recently broke all records by flying around the world twice without stopping. Shirley Ar. Paille is happily married and raising a family. We, the Senior Class of 1949 (all 40 of us!) hereby proclaim our first Will and Testament to our undergraduates! To the incoming Seniors, High and Might) as they be, we generously leave enough inone) for escalators all the way to the third door (they'll need them!). To next year’s Juniors, we leave our will power and perseverance (used as it may be!) to help them hold on for two more years. In all, there were oxer one hundred and seventy-live accomplishments. I he publication of the Key Club directory, the help alforded benefit drives, the donation of the trophy case and electrical scoreboard, and the radio safety quiz were some of the outstanding ones: others were the dance given for the football team, the banquet for parents, the banquet for teachers and Key Club members, the sponsoring of the vocational guidance tests and the management of the halls during the lunch hour. Don Alba res received many individual honors, being elected governor of the district and then international vice-president. The Club received two banners, one for being the most active group, the other for having as a member the international vice-president. He graduated at midterm. He is a talented artist and musician in the I..ST School of Art. Merlin is a participant in many spoils. He played good football for the Bulldogs in this, his sophomore year. He played good defense, and was fast in offense. BII.LV HIGGINBOTHAM “Hickie” is a 5-year letter-man, who earned a berth on All-State and All-City teams in 1919. Billy was voted Most V aluable in the Shrimp Bowl game Ijccausc of his many gains of yardage anti s| ortsmanship. He is a senior who is signed l Mississippi State. Jack is a large fellow who was voted the Ix-st blocker on the team. He was outstanding in the Shrimp Bowl and is signed to play for Mississippi State. In the Shrimp Bowl game, in which he participated, he caught the 10-yard pass to win the game. Bob was voted Most Valuable player of the 1949 team and is a graduate of 1919. Over at the Catholic High gym. the Bulldogs really went to work on their other rival by trouncing them to the tunc of 38-32. From the starting whistle the Bulldogs grablied the lead and never gave the Bruins a chance to catch up. Charles Robert who led the Baton Rouge High aggregation, scored 19 points, the highest scored in a cits game this sear. Giving the Bulldogs a'rest, the next game was Istrouma s. Catholic High, with Istrouma as the host team. In this hard fought game won by Catholic High. Carrol Bidder led victors with 10 points. Flic store of this game was Cat High II. Istrouma 40.
