611155 Praphccy I shall now see how the future looks for the seniors of 1953. As I look into the depths of my crystal ball, I see each senior ten years from today., And what do I see ? Right now Evelyn Alligood is rehearsing for her TV show which comes on every night on Channel 4. By the way, it is sponsored by the Woolard and Woolard Soap Company, owned by Billy and Norris Woolard. Now here's some real good news! Hilton Woolard just made a home -run for the Brooklyn Dodgers and the crowd is really giving him a nice hand. Among the cheer- leaders are two of his favorites, Ann Kilfby and Judy Chrismon. On the side -line is Maynard Waters who is second up to bat! EXTRA! EXTRA! Read all about it! About what? Guy Whitley has just received the Silver Trophy for his fine singing the last five years. Indeed, he has taken over for Mario Lanza. And that reminds us of Hollywood where Gwen Paul is continually having trouble with her director over a new movie. It features Roddy Selby, too. Did you say you needed a shoe shine ? Step right up! Dick Adams and Ralph Kirk are ready to serve you. Please patronize their business in Bath. Say, what's this? Dell Meekins, Phrosene Latham, and Bessie Waters are sing- ing with the Grand Ole Opry, with special music by John Woolard and Alexander Whitaker. I think the boys fiddle and the girls sing. Maybe that's holler. Who got married? Quite a few. Isabelle Ambrose and Ronald Woolard were married two weeks after graduation and are still honeymooning in California. Isa- belle Keech got married too, but she doesn't like long stays from home. I guess she's like Frances Edwards who didn't even have a honeymoon. Please be careful and don't get sick if you can help it. Ella Ruth Congleton and Mildred Daniels are nurses at the Tayloe Hospital in Washington. And can it be true that Morris Waters is the head doctor? Poor patients! This means more business for the Carrow Funeral Home in Pinetown. Ronald's business, that is. It may interest you to know that Billy Smith and Ollie Ray Cutler have joined the State Fair and are getting good pay for their hell-driving stunts. I just know Hugh Woolard envies them. He's a traveling salesman and doesn't ever get the chance to ride, though he doesn't walk. We hear he invented a flying machine. ECC was really honored when Hazel Gurkin and Steve Douglas entered the fall classes there about five years ago. I'm really thankful that I've finished school. How about the rest of you? '? Excuse me for a moment. My crystal ball is getting dusty and I must dust it before I tell something wrong. There we are, and thanks. Now I will finish this great prophecy for you. Marcia Boyd is still running that little fellow she had on the go when he was in school. Maybe he 'll get tired of running after a while and marry her, or perhaps she will go and live with Elizabeth Cutler. She's an old maid, but a fair one. Since Leon Davidson has started driving the Englehard bus, it seems that there are no passengers. He appeared in court the other day and was found guilty of speed- ing. No wonder though, Rosalee Congleton was the judge. Women judges are awful, eh Leon? Jean Gibbs couldn't bear the thoughts of leaving Bath, so she got the job of coach- ing basketball in the school here. They have a real good team too. I guess the spirit was in the students. Let's go to Florida. For what? Well, we might see Sylvia Clark or Marilyn Mason, who are champion swimmers among the many other swimmers at Silver Springs. They plan to enter the contest this year to see which one can swim the English Channel. Good luck, girls. I really hate to tell you this, but it looks as though the crystal ball is wearing down, and the last thing it foresees is Louise Colville and Janice Wallace making dresses and suits for the ladies. But wait! It also sees that Fannie Modlin is sec- retary for the Max Factor Company of Hollywood. I wish to thank my crystal ball for its fine service, and I too think our class of '53 is doing and has done a fine job. PHROSENE LATHAM Class Prophet F' 1
