Ambrose Groves, the timid hero of the play, and his friend Bert Miller were on their way to California to get vaudeville when they were stranded in the middle of the desert. When they wandered into Dead Man ' s Gulch, the people mistook them for desperadoes. Two pretty girls from the East and a crooked sheriff and his deputies complicated things for the travelers. Ambrose and Bert finally got the goods on the sheriff and married the girls. On November 16, the Junior Class presented the play, Open House. Freddy Carhart, the hero of the play, is forced to pretend he is wealthy in order to keep his girlfriend, Mona Noble. After their marriage Freddy takes her to his home town where a real estate agent agrees to lend Freddy a vacant man- sion until the real owners return the following week. But before the week has fairly started the house is invaded by Mona ' s Mother, an eccentric composer, two bank robbers, and the owners. All ends well, however, and the newlyweds are helped along by a large reward for the capture of the bank robbers. Highlights of the summer were the Memorial Day Parade, a trip to Cedar Point, an appearance at the Allen County Fair, and the Allen County Fair Parade. We were especially honored to attend the Dedication of Northland Shopping Center. Football season brought about several ' colorful half-time shows. The most picturesque show was Salute to Old Glory. It was climaxed when the band formed a cross and played The Lord ' s Prayer. Our concert band went to contest and presented two concerts entitled Musical Kaleidoscope and Spring Soiree. At the Spring Soiree pop and potato chips were served and a dance followed. 1 Director William Trunk 95 Compliments of PRIDE OF LIMA PROVISION CO. 1304 Neubrecht Road Lima, Ohio CA 2-8050 Compliments of SCOT LAD FOODS, INC. 1 1 00 Prosperity Road 222-0010 HILL CREST DERRINGER TERRACE MOTEL Interstate Highway 75 REPAIR SERVICE US 25 At State Highway Chain Saw and Lawn Mowers 81 Interchange Kitchenettes Off Apt. 1501 Findlay Road Air Conditioning Sales — Service — Rental Telephones TV Utility and Camping Trailers EARL ' S HARDWARE EATON ENDLY F W Pumps — Lennox Furnace PECK INC.
