An Outstanding Future After 3 long years of high school, the time that the class of ‘“‘83’’ had been waiting for finally arrived—Seniors, at last! As Seniors, they have had many great experiences since they started their high school years as shy Freshmen. During their Sophomore year, they were more confident and became more involved in school activities. As Juniors, they read Beowulf in English class and raised money for their great Prom, whose theme was, ‘‘The Best of Times’’. This year, the class of ‘‘83”’ defeated the other classes with their Homecoming float for the first time! Senior Homecom- ing Queen Candidates were Connie Hammerle, Jane Hart- shorn and Piper Perdue. Jane Hartshorn was chosen as the 1982 Homecoming Queen. The Senior class officers; Jane Hartshorn, President; Lesa Butte, Vice-President; Virginia Becker, Secretary; and Drew Calo, Treasurer; worked with the class sponsor, Mr. Yarber, on many projects. Despite the many cases of “‘Senioritis’’, the class of “83” had a great year and will leave Batesville High School with many memories.
