After another short but eventful summer, it was time to return to Batesville High School for the 1981-1982 school year. The late hours that everyone had become accustomed to would have to be changed so that everyone could arise for their day at school beginning at 8:20. The classrooms, halls, parking lots, and buses would again be full of students as everyone got back into the daily routine of school. Students involved in Band, FFA, Football, Tennis, Golf, and Cross Country had ended their summer leisure hours several days before everyone else and had been at work for some time in preparation for the opening of their activities. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Semester Exams would soon be arriving along with the cold blustery days of December, January, and February. But for the time being everyone was renewing acquaintances, rejoining clubs, and getting back into the swing of Reading, 'Riting, and 'Rithmetic. ey SERRORE LS TST COE CEA sat ; Homecoming 1981 It was October 17, Homecoming of 1981! They try to prepare us for the “‘life after high school’, whether it is college or finding a job. But teaching is not their only function, they are there for you to talk to and become friends with. You may find many of our teachers very involved in different activities, such as coaching an athletic team, putting on a play, sponsoring a club activity or chaperoning a dance. The teaching staff at B.H.S. comes from a wide varie- ty of backgrounds. There are teachers that were born and raised in this area but there are some from as far away as California, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Penn- sylvania. Also our staff has some of the best education themselves, in addition to many Indiana schools they have attended Colorado State University, Catholic University of America, Columbia University, Bellarmine College, and Morehead State University. After 26 years of serving our school system in the Home Ec. Department, Miss Green is retiring. Her ser- vices will be greatly missed. It was new and exciting for us to be in “high school’ and promised each other never to treat the freshmen badly, like they did us. (HA!) During our sophomore year, things started looking familiar. We were receiving our class rings and preparing ourselves for our second float competition, hoping to improve from the previous year. We were also scraping and saving money for the task of putting on the prom. By the time the prom came around, we were READY!! The theme was ‘Always and Forever ’ and with all the work we put into it, we will remember it always and forever. Now, we are FINALLY seniors, all of our eleven years of struggling as underclass- men has paid off. We ordered announcements, measured for caps and gowns and we are set for the day we've all been waiting for! As with all Junior classes the major project was making money for the Prom. They sold soft drinks at the basketball games and sponsored the Homecoming Dance. After another long school year, it is time for a fun summer. The time has come to go out every night and not worry about getting up for school. No more homework, exams, or teachers for 3 months. The Classrooms, hallways, parking lots, and buses no longer have students in them. Students in Band, FFA, Football, tennis, Golf, and Cross Country all should be proud of a successful year. But soon it will be time to start all over again. But then it will come time to come back to good old Batesville High School and get reacquainted with friends you haven't talked to over the summer. But then there are some people who will not be back, so now we say Farewell Seniors, and Good Luck. iy mewn il i Of rm nat | arene -- oy = aly'p' 1 ’ She Ph LL tad Cm. . } , - ive « VILLAGE PROFESSIONAL CENTER MITER BOX FRAMING THE ATTIC NEEDLE ARTS ROMWEBER LAW OFFICES COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH CENTER BILL NUSS STATE FARM INSURANCE CO.
