The team was county champ for the fifth straight year, conference champ for fourth straight year, fourth in the Madison sectional and tenth in the Bloomington regional. The senior members have lost only one regular meet in their high school careers. Terry Giesting was the No. 2 runner on the team, and Pete Schmidt was the No. 1 runner. Both are seniors. Mr. Raver has trained and coached his teams to many successes, and he feels next year’s runners will also have a good season since many of this year’s team will be returning. Coach Raver was selected as EIAC Cross Country Coach of the Year. Conference Champs for Fourth Year Jeff Yarber, who is also a senior this year, was the No. 3 runner for the team. ° ss a : 4 geevlize” y 4 P Nobbe, Lamb iy Tri-Captains: Roger Hartman, Coach Scalf, Dan Becker and Brian Itskin. Playing with a great deal of inexperience, the Dogs com- pleted the 1978 gridiron seaon with a 4-6 campaign. As in any season, there are dis- appointments, such as the 14-13 overtime “loss” to Greensburg, but there are “high-points”’ also: the spoiling of Brookville’s homecoming as the Dogs drop- ped the Greyhounds with a 14- 13 triumph. With a strong group of return- ing lettermen and underclass- men, the Bulldogs are looking for many “high-points”’ this coming fall.
