Fountain Enchants Couples at Prom As the couples entered the new gymnasium for their 1968 Prom, they focused their attention on the fountain situated in the center of the dance floor. At the customary hour of ten o’clock, Mr. Lemen crowned Cheryl Lamppert Queen. The Quee n danced the traditional “Queens Dance” with Prom King Dick Frushour. After the Queen’s Dance, the couples danced to both slow and rock music until midnight when they dispersed to prepare for the Post Prom. These are the people who hold the thankless jobs of driving us to and from school, cook our meals, and clean up after us. Without the services of these dedicated few, school life would be more hectic and chaotic than it is. These have to be the most patient men in the world. Varsity During the spring sports seasons, Batesville plays a tough schedule which includes Arlington of Indianapolis, Noblesville, and Seymour which are always contenders for state honors. The “dawgs”’ have had their honors in “67”, “68”, and “69” by winning the sectional. The 36 game schedule is what makes B’ville a winner. The expectations are high for the 1970 squad to capture the E. I. A. C. crown and win the all-sports trophy. Junior Varsity Baseball is on the upswing at B. H. S. and that is the reason for a Junior varsity team. This squad is made of boys from the 9 10 grades. Greg Salatin, who has pitched four years for B. H. S., isa strong candidate to make the all-conference team. Dave Bischoff has been a regular outfielder since his freshman year. He has been all conference twice as he has been the leading hitter of the squad.
