Presented by THE BULLDOG STAFF of 1964 Batesville High School Batesville, Indiana DEDICATION TO MR. JOHN H. FRUSHOUR, 2 Ss  Se ) âWl a , We, as young people, have two choices, We may seek the truth and think individually with honest self-criticism. On the other hand, we may sit complacently and reject our heritage by an unawareness of our critical times. It is the former for which we must strive. We are grateful to the man who has presented us with this challenge and opportunity to seek knowledge and to strengthen our character. Because of our gratitude for his earnest devotion to our problems we, the graduating class of 1964 dedicate this year's annual to Mr. John H. Frushour, As principal of our high school, he has not only proved himself to be an exemplary leader but a true friend to all of us, It is in this small way that we of the graduating class say Thank You for the laudable ideals of manliness and fair play which he himself has symbolized to our school and to each student, CONTENTS Activities Classes , Administration Students Organizations Advertisements Theme: Fairy tales can come true they could happen to you at BATESVILLE HIGH BATESVILLE HIGH! Much hard work and energy went into the production of this play. The story was based on look alikes--one per- son was the principal of a high school and the other was a bank robber. You can imagine what excitement oc- curred when the bank robber used the principal's position as his hideout. Thanks to Mr. Loren Carmichael for his guidance in directing the play and Miss Heim for all her assistance. An all-school Sadie Hawkins Dance was sponsored by the G.A.A. dur- ing the spring. Colorful costumes and appropriate scenery made this dance a never-to-be-forgotten event. The highlight of the evening was the crowning of Jerry Flodder (Freshman representative) as king 2 â Fan of the dance. TX = EEA, BOBIBIED: âCOTILLION BALL â This year's Prom, Cotillion Ball, took the Juniors, Seniors, Faculty and their guests on a trip through the old South. A colonial background complete with pillars, fountains and murals decorated the high school gymnasium and made the theme a reality. From the Prom the group proceeded to the drive-in to see a movie and then to the Eagles for other post- prom activities. 109 A Dancing dreamily from eight until twelve. Principal John Frushour crowns Seniors, Connie Wonning and Brian Westerfeld, King and Queen of the Prom. 1 | Ny a | â_ ; As this fountain keeps flowing so does the friendship of these high school couples. Freshmen donned clothes of the old south to become servants. Gerald Miller Cathy Meyer Robert Uhlmansiek GRADUATION . . .AN END AND A BEGINNING On Wednesday night, May 27th, Seniors of '64 became the 54th class to graduate from Bates- ville High School. The 82 graduates chose as their motto Less than our best is Failure. Their class colors were pink and silver and the class flower was the pink rose. The class song Let There Be Peace On Earth was sung by a Senior Ensemble. The theme for the Commencement speeches was Our School its past, future, guidance and curriculum. The graduates stand to sing their Alma Mater--bidding Batesville High Farewell. RESERVED v 2 As Memories of the wonderful four years spent at Batesville High school are recalled the Seniors stand to be pronounced Graduates. lla Robert Timmerman presents retiring principal, John Frushour, with a ring as a token of appreciation for Mr. Frushour's many years of service to the school and the community. The Class of '64 marches out to the strains of Pomp and Circumstance, and they look forward with courage to a bright and prosperous future. OE a ik j ie V oes 3 | L 3 j | Ae] NS [ SF,
