CLASS PROPHECY I, Jerry Abplanalp, predict that in the year 1981, this may be the interests, locations, or occupations of the students in the Senior Class of 1961. Bob Bruns, chief of police in Batesville, will arrest Dan Placke for advertising aspirin on a T. V. show sponsored by Bufferin. Ray Wuester- feld, an outstanding block layer, has just finished laying blocks for Lanny Fullenkamp, who owns a national chain of Dairy Queens. Joe Hoog, who will follow in Jimmy Durante's footsteps as a famous co- median, will marry Evelyn Borchelt, who has tried so hard to find a husband, Charlie Wemer will play pro basketball and Bill Bohannon will play pro football, Barbara Chadwick and Dianne Strunck will come back to teach elementary school at Ballstown, Carolyn Stacey, a successful secretary, will work for Jim Flodder who is now presi- dent of the Pepsi Cola Bottling Works, Bill Moeller, an auto mechanic, works for Bob Ziegler, who now owns the Ford Garage. Bob Olliges, after serving his time in the service, had three new cars, wrecked three new cars, and is now back to his good old '47 Chev, which he purchased from Larry Fullenkamp--junk dealer. Bob Bischoff and Joe Stein are now a team in developing new methods of farming. Joe Dwenger has settled down to a married life while Rod- ney Baumer is living the life of a confirmed bachelor, Judy Schroeder, a successful nurse, has a full-time job caring for June Boehmer's seven children, Dick Feller is a truck driver and Paul Miller, a beer tester for the James Glaub Brewing Company. Mitzi Schath will win the Nobel Prize for her outstanding accomplishments in poetry while Bojy Timmerman is becoming famous for her literary works, Patti Westerfeld, well-known lady scientist, works for Roger Schorr, owner of his own chemical research plant. Don Rennekamp and Leonard Werner are both prosperous farmers. Joy Gardner, a well-known artist, paints adver- tisements for Paulette Asche, manager-of the Murphy Five and Ten Cent Stores. Dale Bosse, who has completed a course in public accounting, works as a bookkeeper for Jim Mollaun, owner of the Mollaun Metal Works, Inc. Glenda Dieckmann is a beautician in California for Shirley Volk, famous Hollywood actress. Tom Martin will farm for Alvin Schebler who owns more land in the United States than any other farmer. Eunice Collins and Gil- bert Salatin will be a hit as the famous Brados acrobat team. Jim Mergenthal, conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra, is good friends with Vernon Raver, national chair- man of the Democratic Party. Bob Dietz and John Blandford are partners in the ownership of the famous Speckle Hardware Store . Paul Werner, Spanish teacher, has been tutoring Ronnie Green so that Ronnie can write his articles in the Herald Tribune in Spanish, When Ronnie became editor of the Herald, he said there would be changes--and there were, including Terry Moenter as head typist. Julian Coyle, a barber, cuts the hair of Larry Vierling, internationally famous playboy. Earl Bruning, a great scientist, has just successfully launched Leroy Banks into space on a rocket-powered vacuum cleaner! Marlin Siebert, head of Siebert's Welding, has just re- paired one of Milt Stock's Dairy Trucks, Milt is head of the Batesville Dairies. Jerry Merkel, gas pump boy at Nobbe's, has just had his watch repaired by Jerry Rudolph, famous jeweler. Jerry Brelage, Mayor of Ballstown, is special guest tonight at the Gibson Theater, managed by Paul Schneider, Becky Schutte, who has entered into the beatnik world to write poetry, was the first person to smoke the new filtered cigarette invented by Gordon Giesting. Tony Johnson, who has just won the title of Mr, America, buys his groceries from Bill Dwenger's grocery store in Hamburg. Jerry Abplanalp is sales manager for Dave Frensemeier, who owns the national chain of A. P, Food Stores. Wilfred Scheele, a confirmed bachelor, is an admirer of Patti Dirkhising, famous lady wrestler, Jerry Stahl, who has made a career of the Army, has had frequent visits from Ton Tekulve, a famous mechanical engineer. Gary Burch stayed in Batesville and is now working as a cabinet maker for Hill- enbrand Industries.
